Charles Barkley is a very happy man this evening, as his Auburn Tigers upset the North Carolina Tar Heels in the Sweet 16.

Auburn, the No. 5 seed in the Midwest Region, had its way with the No. 1-seeded Tar Heels, winning going away, 97-80.

This is the second Elite Eight berth for Auburn in program history. The Tigers last made it in 1986.

Barkley was the star of that Auburn team.

Tonight, he celebrated in front of his close friend and co-worker, Kenny Smith (who starred collegiately at UNC).

Auburn has never made the Final Four. The Tigers will look to advance to the national semifinals for the first time on Sunday.

Bruce Pearl's team is set to take on the winner of the No. 2 Kentucky-No. 3 Houston game.

The Wildcats and the Cougars are playing on TBS.
