The 2016 NCAA Tournament bracket was unveiled Sunday night, so prepare yourself for a few days of constant analysis and predictions. The first hot take this week comes from ESPN’s Myron Medcalf, who has a number of interesting opinions in his “10 bold predictions” post.
The most controversial? Medcalf has North Carolina, the No. 2 ranked team in the entire event, losing in the first weekend. He thinks that Providence, the 9-seed in UNC’s bracket, will knock off both USC and UNC.
North Carolina is a strong group and favored by many to cut down the nets in Houston. But Tar Heels fans should keep the tissues close because Providence will defeat USC in the opening round and upset North Carolina in the second round.
Medcalf also has Kentucky losing to Stony Brook in the first round. That won’t endear him to Big Blue Nation, that’s for sure.
