UNC trailed Virginia 36-29 at halftime of tonight’s ACC showdown, but this game wasn’t the Heels’ only concern. Freshman forward Nassir Little went down in the first half with an injury.
Little, a five-star recruit and projected 2019 lottery pick, appeared to hurt his ankle when he landed awkwardly. He walked off the court under his own power but was limping.
At halftime, the Tar Heels declared Little out for the rest of the game.

Little was 0-for-1 from the field with one foul in limited duty tonight. Today is his birthday, so that makes the injury even more disappointing.
Additionally, Little going down hurts UNC’s depth. The Heels are without wing Leaky Black and big man Sterling Manley for the time being.
UNC announces that Nassir Little will not return tonight vs. Virginia due to a right ankle injury. Tar Heels already dealing with injury problems: Leaky Black and Sterling Manley both are out and not expected back in the next few games.
