Jace Ruder, a three-star quarterback in the class of 2018, will be a North Carolina Tar Heel.
Ruder, the No. 1 recruit in the state of Kansas and the No. 17 dual-threat quarterback in the class, is set to join Larry Fedora's program.
247Sports has Ruder at No. 467 overall.
Keith Heckendorf, UNC's passing game coordinator and quarterbacks Coach, is credited as the lead recruiter for Ruder.
He made the announcement via Twitter.
Ruder was a three-star recruit, but he had offers from some of the top programs in the country. Florida State, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Syracuse and others.
The UNC commitment is a win for the crystal ball prognosticators over at 247 as well. All eight voters predicted that he would commit to North Carolina. While there is still plenty of time between now and National Signing Day, it looks like that's where he'll be heading.
Ruder is not the only quarterback in North Carolina's class. In fact, he's the second signal caller to pledge to the Tar Heels in the last four days, joining four-star Tyler Shough.
UNC's class, which features 10 players, is ranked No. 24 overall and No. 5 in the ACC.
