NCAA To Reopen Probe Of Academic Violations At North Carolina

North Carolina may be in trouble. The NCAA decided to reopen its probe of various academic violations by North Carolina athletics. This comes just weeks after former North Carolina guard/forward Rashad McCants claimed that he took bogus classes, rarely attended class and had tutors write his classes during his time in Chapel Hill.

There is no word on who exactly the NCAA believes will provide it with information that refused to cooperate when it launched its first investigation, and there is no word on whether or not McCants' claims had any impact on the case getting reopened.

North Carolina athletic director Bubba Cunningham responded to the NCAA's actions with a statement.
