Watch: North Carolina Players Lose Their Minds When They're Given New Jordan Retro 11s

Going to Michael Jordan's alma mater has its perks, even if you play football, and not basketball. The Tar Heels received new Jordan Retro 11's today, and their reaction was priceless.

ESPN's Marty Smith posted video of the celebration to Twitter. Head coach Larry Fedora unveiled the kicks during a team meeting, and the Tar Heel players were very hyped about them.

UNC football head equipment manager Jason Freeman showed off the new kicks as well. I have to admit, they are pretty fresh, as far as Carolina Blue sneakers go.

The sneakers retail for around $175.

UNC football officially signed to Jordan Brand earlier this year, announced during halftime of the Tar Heels' basketball game against Duke, a moment that became viral when Michael Jordan uttered the quizzical catchphrase "the ceiling is the roof." The Tar Heels are the second football program under the Jordan Brand wing, joining the Michigan Wolverines. For the players, the move is already paying dividends.
