Tyler Hansbrough is a North Carolina legend. The forward put together four dominant seasons during his time as a Tar Heel.
Hansbrough accomplished several signature feats during his career. But it’s what happened in 2007’s Duke-UNC game which will always be remembered.
North Carolina held a 12-point lead with less than 20 seconds remaining. Hansbrough went to the line to ice the game, but missed the free throw. He was able to secure the rebound, but paid the price for doing so.
Duke’s Gerald Henderson came down on Hansbrough with a vicious elbow. The result? A bloodied and broken nose.
The entire play has become an iconic memory of college basketball and the Duke-UNC rivalry. And today on Halloween, it’s still being remembered.
A fan recreated the iconic picture of Hansbrough following the game, bloodied face and all. Check out the great Halloween costume below.

Well done, UNC fan.
The creativity here is on point. The recreated version not only has the fake blood and nosebleed plug, but the jersey as well. As previously mentioned, the iconic moment and photograph is being remembered almost 12 years later.
Hansbrough’s efforts in 2007 are still being remembered in 2019. North Carolina fans will not soon forget the 2007 UNC-Duke contest.
