Photo: North Carolina Gets New Drone To Film Football Practice

Technology.

Yesterday, the University of Oregon unveiled a new Football Performance Center that many viewed as one of the most "futuristic" looking facilities in college football. The University of North Carolina may not boast such a facility, but it does have some pretty impressive new filming technology -- a drone.

Yes, the Tar Heels' practices will now be filmed aerially by a drone camera, which will allow the coaching staff to observe practice tape from numerous angles as opposed to just one from the standard video tower. Here's a photo of the drone in action:

This isn't the first of its kind in college football -- earlier this year, Tennessee showcased a similar drone. I'd guess that if these few teams have positive experiences with drones in 2013, we'll see them catch on across the country in the near future.
