Story: Carolina wins convincingly to improve to 4-3 in the ACC while Boston College remains at the bottom of the ACC standings at 1-6 in conference play. UNC got 14 quick points from P.J. Hairston off the bench midway through the first half before the sophomore guard went down with a concussion and didn’t return. Despite shooting 7-20, James Michael McAdoo had a big game (17 pts, 10 reb) with his seventh double-double of the year, and third in his last four games. BC struggled after losing its lead early in the first half but kept it interesting thanks to a big performance from Olivier Hanlan who posted a game-high 22 points.

The Tar Heels started off slow and allowed BC to make some early, uncontested threes before buckling down and getting hot from deep. UNC used a 21-7 run to take a 48-33 lead over Boston College at halftime, forcing BC to commit nine turnovers. The second half saw the Heels extend their lead to as many as 18 before finally fending off BC by 12 to get a much needed road win.
