UNC LB Cayson Collins On Team's 119th-Ranked Defense: "This Won't Happen Again"

Friday, North Carolina, yet again, turned in a dismal defensive performance, giving up 524 yards and 40 points to Rutgers in the Quick Lane Bowl. For the Tar Heels, which gave up 39 points per game this season, it was the sixth time an opponent had crossed the 40-point plateau. It all adds up to the nation's 119th-ranked defense. There are only 128 teams in the country.

Friday night, after the contest had ended, North Carolina freshman linebacker Cayson Collins took to Twitter to vent. After seeing a set of unfortunate stats about his team's defense, he vowed that the team's defense will improve in the future. Specifically, he promised it wouldn't happen again.

Collins and his teammates certainly have a tough hill to climb, but given the fact that they play in the ACC Coastal division, a big-time turnaround isn't impossible. We'll see if Collins backs up his words.
