UNC opened today’s game against Georgia Tech by running Dean Smith’s four corners offense—an awesome tribute to the legendary Tar Heels coach—and notched an easy 89-60 win. Head coach Roy Williams wasn’t thrilled with how everything went down, however. He was disappointed that more fans didn’t pick up on the tribute to Smith, and then criticized the crowd for not being as raucous as some as the others that the team has encountered in the ACC.
UNC played four of its last five games on the road, going 1-4 in that time, and Williams thinks that the Tar Heels fans need to “invest” more in the program and make its presence known in the Dean Dome.
This certainly isn’t the reaction you expect after a 29-point win. It seems like something that’s been bothering Williams for a while.
