Alternate uniforms are a totally ubiquitous part of college football at this point. Pitt is wearing one of its alternate looks this afternoon.

Usually, the Panthers wear their royal blue and yellow designs, which are gorgeous and bright. Today's outfits are the total opposite of that.

Pitt is wearing all-grey uniforms against Notre Dame today. Every detail of the get-up is grey: the pants and tops are a darker shade, while the helmets, socks, numbers and undershirts are lighter.

To be honest, we're not huge fans of what the Panthers have going on fashion-wise, and it looks like we're in the majority judging by the reaction on social media.

This isn't the first time Pitt has worn these unis, and in fairness to the Panthers, the inspiration behind them is noble. The alternate look is meant to honor the local community. "They wanted to do something that would stand out and was different and they also wanted to give a nod to the steel community of Pittsburgh," Nike graphic designer Mike Hodder

Love or hate the uniforms, Pitt isn't on the right track to springing an upset while wearing them.
