One of Syracuse's best players is going to be out on Thursday against Duke.

The ACC has suspended Buddy Boeheim after he gut-punched Florida State's Wyatt Wilkes on Wednesday.

Boeheim ended up apologizing for the punch after the game, but the ACC still decided to suspend him. "In the heat of today's game, after some shoving in the lane, I swung my arm while turning to go back up the court," Boeheim said in a statement. "It was wrong to act out in frustration. I apologized to Wyatt Wilkes multiple times in the handshake line. He said not to worry about it, but I know it was wrong. I pride myself in respecting the game and our opponent. I will not react that way again."

Boeheim was the third leading scorer on Wednesday for the Orange. He finished with 14 points as Syracuse routed Florida State, 96-57.

For the season, he's averaging 19 points per game and shooting 40% from the floor.

Tip-off for Syracuse-Duke will be at Noon ET with a spot in the semifinals on the line.
