Former Syracuse Quarterback A.J. Long Criticizes Coaching Staff During N.C. State Blowout

Syracuse hung tough in home games against top-ranked LSU and Clemson teams this season, but when the Orange has gone on the road this season, things have gotten very ugly. Syracuse currently trails N.C. State 42-16 at Carter-Finley Stadium, and now Scott Shafer's coaching staff is being criticized by a player that was on the team just weeks ago: quarterback A.J. Long.

Walk-on Zach Mahoney is currently in at quarterback for the Orange, and while he is pretty good at running the triple option, the former wide receiver does not throw the ball very well down field. Syracuse has also punted four times in the second half despite trailing the Wolfpack by multiple touchdowns. Long is certainly not the only one criticizing the staff's decisions this afternoon.
