Iowa Claims 'Top Party School' Title, Syracuse Ranked Highest In ACC

An honor?

The highly anticipated list of Top Party Schools in the country has been released this week by the Princeton Review and some top notch college athletic programs have made the cut. The University of Iowa has claimed the top spot (I guess they have nothing better to do). Syracuse University tops the list of Atlantic Coast Conference teams, making a huge statement in its first year in the league.

Last year, SU ranked 10th in the country, which would have been good enough for second-best in the ACC behind Florida State. But the Orange made a leap to fifth this year, making themselves an elite party school. The only other current ACC team in the top 20 is Maryland, ranked 17th.

It looks like Syracuse got out of the Big East just in time. No former Big East schools rank in the Princeton Review's top 20.

Here's a list of the top conferences and how many schools made the top 20:

  • Big 10 - 4 ACC - 3 SEC - 3 Big 12 - 2 MAC - 2 Patriot League - 1 C-USA - 1 Pac 12 - 1 American East - 1 North Coast Athletic Conference (DIII) - 1 Big West - 1
