John Calipari Clarifies His Stance On Krzyzewski And Boeheim Coaching Team USA

In the aftermath of Team USA's gold medal in the FIBA Basketball World Cup, some, including Yahoo! NBA reporter Adrian Wojnarowski and Kentucky coach John Calipari have raised some concern about the advantages given to Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski and Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim in recruiting. The two hall of famers responded to the criticism, and now Calipari has taken to Twitter to clarify that he doesn't have an issue with them coaching the national team.

That second to last tweet seems to be the most important here. Even if there is a slight advantage in recruiting to be able to sell Team USA credentials, it would be very difficult for any coach to turn down that opportunity. Mike Krzyzewski and Jim Boeheim, of all coaches, have little to add to their resumes, they have a good shot at getting any top player they target as is. Calipari is probably in the same category at this point.
