Toronto SF Oshae Brissett Commits To Syracuse Basketball

Oshae Brissett, the top 2017 basketball player in Toronto, committed to Syracuse basketball tonight over Oregon. He made his decision at halftime of tonight's Knicks-Raptors game.

The timing proved to be appropriate, as he plans to head from Canada to New York State to play hoops next season.

247Sports ranks Brissett the No. 28 small forward in the nation, and the composite rankings have him as a three-star recruit, while the site's own rankings have him at four stars. Brissett chose Syracuse over Memphis, Oregon, and USC, which were named finalists back in September. He also holds offers from Arizona State, Maryland, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, UCLA, UNLV, and others. Rivals put together a highlight package of Brissett from this summer. Assistant coach Adrian Autry served as the lead recruiter for Brissett. He is the first member of Syracuse's 2017 recruiting class. Update: Brissett took to Twitter shortly after this announcement to greet his new fan base.

Syracuse fans waited a while to pick up their first 2017 recruit. They should be pretty happy right now.
