Earlier: The hearing panel has come to a decision. According to Mike Waters of Syracuse.com, James Southerland has won his appeal and has been reinstated by the Syracuse basketball team.
In January, Syracuse sharp-shooter James Southerland was ruled academically ineligible by the school. He has been forced to sit out the second half of his senior campaign since, and the Orange have had a tough time replacing his 3-point shooting prowess.
The 9th-ranked Orange play St. John's at 3 p.m. today, and Southerland is expected to play vs. the Red Storm.
