Report: Syracuse Is Hiring Dino Babers As Its Next Head Coach

Update: Syracuse has made the news official. Babers will be the 30th head coach of the Orange.

Earlier: According to a number of reports, including one by ESPN's Joe Schad, Syracuse has found its next head coach. Dino Babers, who coached Bowling Green to a MAC title Friday night, will take over the Orange program. Syracuse fired Scott Shafer last week after three seasons at the helm. Shafer finished the 2015 campaign with a 4-8 record.

In two seasons at Bowling Green, Babers posted an 18-9 record. His first stop as a head coach was at Eastern Illinois, where he led the Panthers to the FCS Playoffs Quarterfinal in 2013.
