Syracuse sophomore quarterback A.J. Long, who started five games for the Orange in 2014, has been forced to discontinue his playing career due to multiple concussions, according to Syracuse.com beat writer Stephen Bailey.

This is too bad for Long, who threw for 935 yards and four touchdowns (eight interceptions) and ran for a pair of scores as a true freshman last year. He could have definitely helped the depleted Orange quarterback ranks this season, but was sidelined by injuries.
Health is what is paramount in situations like this, so we wish Long the best.
