Syracuse Survives DePaul On Senior Night

Sending them off right.

Score: No. 17 Syracuse 78, DePaul 57

Star(s): Syracuse:James Southerland 22 Pts, 10 Reb. C.J. Fair 16 Pts, 7 Reb.

Story: In front of a lackluster crowd of just over 22,000, James Southerland, Brandon Triche and possibly a couple other SU basketball players played their final game at the Carrier Dome. It was just as sloppy as the rest of the Orange games over the past few weeks. Luckily, it was against a team that couldn't capitalize on that.

The Orange shot just 2-for-18 from three-point range but forced 17 Blue Demons turnovers, allowing Carter-Williams and the boys to get out in transition. The game eventually got so out of hand that senior walk-ons Matt Lyde-Cajuste and Griffin Hoffman were able to get in the game in the final minute.

The game makes you wonder, who will be back next year? We've completely ruled out Triche and Southerland, obviously because they're seniors. But Carter-Williams has been projected as a first-round draft pick all season. Will he forego the rest of his NCAA eligibility and head to the big leagues? C.J. Fair had a great season, would he go early? I even saw Rakeem Christmas in a mock draft a couple of weeks ago. Who knows what the future holds for this team?

Even though it was sloppy, at least the seniors got a win on their Senior Night.

Gonna miss seeing @bswish20 and James Southerland playing on the court at home
