Two of the elite programs in college hoops reside in the ACC, as No. 1 Duke and No. 4 Virginia are both proving to be championship contenders for this season.
Even though Duke’s biggest rival will always be North Carolina, Virginia is emerging as perennial powerhouse in the league and nationally.
Freshmen Zion Williamson and R.J. Barrett carry the Blue Devils on offense, meanwhile the Cavaliers rely on veteran pieces such as Kyle Guy and Ty Jerome.
Virginia is still undefeated this year, but it will be quite the challenge to defeat Duke on the road. The Blue Devils are undefeated at home this year with their one loss occurring against Gonzaga during the Maui Invitational.
Both Duke and Virginia can’t look ahead to this showdown, especially with the ACC featuring tough opponents every game.
Nonetheless, the Blue Devils can use this upcoming battle to prove they’re the most dominant team in the conference, whereas the Cavaliers can send a clear message to the rest of the nation by handling their business in a hostile environment.
The time for this matchup has just been set and the game is expected to be broadcast on ESPN.
Game ⏰ at Duke is set for 6⃣ p.m. on Jan. 19 at Cameron Indoor.
