Virginia Tech fans stormed the court to celebrate tonight's win over No. 5 Duke.
Just a short time before they did it, they were getting admonished by their team's head coach.
Late in the second half, Virginia Tech fans didn't agree with a foul called on one of the Hokies' players. The infraction sent Duke's Grayson Allen to the free throw line.
The Virginia Tech fans had been taunting Allen all night, and now they voiced their disapproval with the officiating. A loud "Bull---, bull----" chant engulfed Cassell Coliseum.
That's when VT head coach Buzz Williams stepped in. Williams went to the scorer's table, took control of the PA microphone and told his fans to "stop cussin'" and throwing things.
Here's the video:
Good job by Williams here.
With the win, Virginia Tech locked up its second-straight NCAA Tournament bid. The Hokies moved to 21-9 overall and 10-7 in ACC play.
