Photo: Virginia Tech Unveiling Special Helmet This Evening, Picture Of Potential Patriotic Helmet Surfaces

No college football team had a more successful weekend than Virginia Tech. The Hokies traveled to Columbus and defeated then-No. 8 Ohio State, notching the first road win over a top 10 team in program history. Frank Beamer's team, unranked at the beginning of the season, now resides in both polls

Virginia Tech has what should be a much easier game this weekend, facing East Carolina in Blacksburg. The Hokies will apparently be wearing a special helmet for their game against the Pirates.

The helmet is expected to be a military appreciation design.

There's no way to know if that helmet is the one the Hokies will be wearing, but it certainly seems to match the expected patriotic design.

Virginia Tech and East Carolina are set to kickoff at 12 p.m. E.T.
