Update: Trevon Hill appears to be pushing back on the report of his transfer to Miami. Stay tuned.

Earlier: Although most of the marquee names in the NCAA transfer portal were quarterbacks, defensive lineman Trevon Hill also made the decision to leave Virginia Tech. Hill finished three seasons with the Hokies, registering 11.5 sacks, 94 tackles and forced a fumble. With the former Virginia Tech defender entering his final season of eligibility, he's been actively searching for another football program to call home. Considering that he was dismissed from the team due to an incident with his coaching staff during last year, it's imperative that he makes the most of his next opportunity. It appears Hill wants to remain in the ACC and also play for one of the best defensive minds in football. Christopher Stock of 247Sports is reporting that Hill is expected to transfer to the Miami Hurricanes. Manny Diaz has already added UCLA defensive tackle Chigozie Nnoruka through the transfer market, as he is clearly looking to add experience in the trenches.

After a very disappointing season back in 2018, the Hurricanes are looking to bounce back under Diaz.

The main concern for Miami will be based on which quarterback wins the starting job. However, it should be noted that Diaz already landed Tate Martell earlier in the month.

If Hill does in fact leave from Virginia Tech to Miami, he'll anchor the defensive line for the Hurricanes and give Diaz the veteran presence he needs.
