Running back Marvin Scott III did not stay committed to Wake Forest for long. After announced his commitment to the Demon Deacons shortly after 3 p.m. ET this afternoon, Scott has now reopened his recruitment.
The 2020 three-star prospect was pledged to Wake for roughly two hours. Now, he’s back on the market.
“I am decommitting from Wake Forest,” Scott wrote. “I made a mistake. My recruiting is open.”

In tweets from the past week, Scott has claimed new offers from Duke, Boston College and Michigan. Perhaps that’s why he’s backing off his pledge.
Scott also holds offers from Appalachian State, Louisville, Marshall, Purdue, North Carolina and others.
Scott is the No. 44 running back in the 2020 cycle, according to 247Sports’ own rankings. He is not included in any composite rankings yet, as other sites apparently have not rated him.
