Oklahoma and Texas obviously share one of college football's best rivalries, and the two programs' starting quarterbacks, both Austin natives, have a high school rivalry as well.

Mayfield went to Lake Travis High School, while Ehlinger was the quarterback at Westlake, before enrolling at Texas in January.

The two never played head-to-head, since Mayfield was a member of the class of 2013, but he knows how the matchups between his alma mater and Ehlinger's squad went over the last few years.

During Monday's press conference, Mayfield said he didn't know much about the freshman Longhorn gunslinger, but he does know that he was 0-3 against Lake Travis.

Naturally, Texas fans, and others that are not fans of Mayfield and the Sooners, aren't thrilled with his statement.

On Friday night Lake Travis and Westlake face off, leading into Saturday's edition of the Red River Shootout between Ehlinger's Longhorns and Mayfield's Sooners.
