Baylor Releases Statement Regarding Shawn Oakman Being In Team's Locker Room

Baylor has released a statement regarding the presence of former defensive end Shawn Oakman in the team's locker room over the weekend.

Ex-Baylor defensive lineman Shawn Oakman was indicted for sexual assault in July. His presence in Baylor's locker room after the team's win over Rice on Friday was met with plenty of criticism. Head coach Jim Grobe received the brunt of it when he told reporters he didn't know who Oakman was.

Baylor released a statement tonight regarding Oakman. Basically, they are saying he was not invited on Friday, and will not be permitted in the locker room at any future away games.

You had to figure Baylor would look to distance itself from Oakman. The school and program haven't exactly done a great job with handling things in the wake of the scandals of the Art Briles era.
