A pretty good quarterback is now in the transfer portal after losing his starting job during the offseason.

Per Chris Hummer of 247Sports, former Baylor quarterback Gerry Bohanon has entered the portal as a graduate transfer. He was the Bears' starting quarterback last season and finished the year with 2,200 yards passing and 18 touchdowns.

Blake Shapen will be Baylor's starting quarterback heading into 2022.

This will allow Bohanon to seek out a new school that needs a starter and not have to sweat all summer about potentially losing his job.

His 2021 season was his only season of starting experience. He played sparingly in 2019 and 2020 and only had 194 combined passing yards with two touchdowns during those two seasons.

Before committing to Baylor, Bohanon was a four-star recruit in the 2018 class and the best player in his home state (Arkansas). He was also the No. 10 dual-threat quarterback recruit in the country and the No. 234 overall recruit, regardless of position, per 247Sports.
