As many recent college graduates have been told in the last few weeks, networking is key in landing a job. This can also apply to late-round NFL Draft prospects; apparently having the current face of a major franchise as a friend and former teammate doesn't hurt. Baylor running back Lache Seastrunk was surprisingly available in the sixth round of this year's draft, and texts from Robert Griffin III to new Washington coach Jay Gruden helped convince the team to select the Bears' back.
Seastrunk was one of the most exciting players on an amazing Baylor offense in 2013-14, and in our Draft Grades, we named Seastrunk the team's "Best Pick." Good call, RGIII.
