Baylor star Bryce Petty was the first quarterback taken on day three of the NFL Draft, and he's landed with the New York Jets, a great situation for a quarterback that wants to play early. Quarterback guru George Whitfield Jr. was with Petty today, and recorded the moment that he received the phone call from new Jets head coach Todd Bowles. It is a very cool moment.
Jets fans have to be happy with landing a prolific quarterback so late in the draft. Even as a fourth rounder, there seems to be a good chance that Petty can push Geno Smith for the starting job.
