Iowa State (5-4, 3-3 in conference play) is coming off a heartbreaking 42-41 loss to Oklahoma on Saturday. If they beat Texas (6-3, 4-2) this weekend, the Cyclones will not only become bowl eligible, but will likely end the Longhorns’ chances of making the Big 12 title game.
Iowa State AD Jamie Pollard couldn’t resist taking a jab at Texas prior to Saturday’s game, taking to Twitter to poke fun at the infamous Texas-LSU air conditioning controversy from September.
“For those that are concerned it may be too warm this weekend for our southern friends, we did double check to make sure the air conditioner is working in our visiting team lockeroom,” Pollard tweeted.
After LSU’s win over Texas in Austin on September 7, Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron alleged that his team was not provided air conditioning in the visitors’ locker room.
However, an internal probe conducted by Texas reportedly indicated the AC was working fine.
