Iowa State Basketball: ISU Players Post Moving Tributes To Former Coach Fred Hoiberg

Fred Hoiberg will be officially introduced as the new head coach of the Chicago Bulls this afternoon. Hoiberg comes to the Windy City by way of his alma mater, Iowa State, where he transformed the Cyclone program into a national-caliber, Big 12 title-winning outfit during his five seasons in charge.

Hoiberg grew up in Ames, Ia., and goes by the nickname "The Mayor" for what he's meant to the community during his time there. He clearly had a profound impact on his ISU players, several of whom posted heartfelt tributes to him on social media.

Hoiberg obviously meant a lot to these athletes, and a lot to the ISU family. No matter how much success he achieves in Chicago, it's doubtful he will be as beloved there as he is in Ames.
