Watch: Iowa State Lost Its 1st Fumble Of The Season Because Of A Controversial Call

Iowa State loses fumble in bowl game.

Should this Iowa State fumble have counted?

So close, and yet so far for the Cyclones.

Iowa State nearly became the first team in NCAA history to go the entire season without losing a fumble. The Cyclones lost their first fumble in the final minutes of today's Liberty Bowl against Memphis.

Check out the play below. It looks like ISU running back David Montgomery broke the plane before losing control.

A brutal way to miss out on making history, but Iowa State got the last laugh. The Cyclones held on and beat Memphis 21-20 to finish the season with an 8-5 record.
