Battery Charge Against Kansas F Carlton Bragg Has Been Dismissed

The domestic battery charge against Kansas basketball forward Carlton Bragg has been dropped.

Bragg was arrested on Friday but today the Douglas County District Attorney's office dismissed the charge. Additionally, a charge of battery was levied against Saleeha Soofi, the woman who originally claimed Bragg punched her.

Here are some details from the Kansas City Star:

The release from the district attorney said the surveillance video depicted a male and female in a stairwell of a building engaged in an argument. The video showed the female shoved and slapped the male in the chest and placed her hands near the male’s neck.

“After being struck by female, the male forcefully shoves her away from him causing the female to fall backwards up the ascending stairs behind her,” according to the prosecutor’s office release.

Bragg had been suspended indefinitely by Jayhawk head coach Bill Self following his arrest. In nine games this season, Bragg is averaging 7.8 points and 5.3 rebounds in 16.0 minutes per game.
