There wasn’t a whole lot of drama in college basketball this past week, but the upcoming weekend could easily change that. Plenty of conferences are poised to go down to the wire, and nobody looks invincible heading into March Madness, especially after looking at the latest bracketology release by ESPN.
Ahead of what should be a big weekend for college hoops, ESPN’s Joe Lunardi has released his new 2020 Bracketology. With so few big results since his last one, there wasn’t a whole lot of room for a team to make a big jump. But there were a few notable changes.
Making a long-awaited return to the top-four seed line is Butler, who upset No. 10 Villanova on Wednesday. The Bulldogs have won three of their last four and are in a prime position to challenge for the Big East regular season title.
Two new teams also got into the bracket: Charleston of the CAA and Montana of the Big Sky Conference.
Here’s a look at Lunardi’s current top-four seed lines, via ESPN:
- Seton Hall
- Michigan State
- Florida State
- San Diego State
- West Virginia
Here is Lunardi’s latest full 2020 Bracketology bracket.
Tonight we’ll see Maryland take on Illinois in a battle of top 25 teams from the Big Ten.
But tomorrow is where we’ll get the real rivalry action. Carolina-Duke, Indiana-Purdue, LSU-Auburn, Michigan-Michigan State, Kentucky-Tennessee, and Seton Hall-Villanova are just a few of the big games with ranked teams we’ll get on Saturday.
