Before signing with Florida as a recruit, quarterback Feleipe Franks was originally committed to Les Miles and LSU. He may get a second chance to play for the Mad Hatter.
Franks’ Florida career came to a close in unfortunate fashion. Earlier this year, he suffered an awful dislocated ankle that ended his season.
Earlier this month, he announced that his time in Gainesville is over. He is looking into transfer options, and could also explore a jump to the 2020 NFL Draft.
Franks has had an up-and-down college career, but has shown promise later in his time at Florida. It would make sense for him to look for a situation to step into where he could start, and put more positive tape out there.
Miles has resurfaced at Kansas, and while he did not get the Jayhawks back to a bowl in year one, the team took some serious steps forward this fall, especially on offense. Adding a player like Franks could be huge for KU.
This weekend, he is in Lawrence to see what the program has to offer, per a video posted to his Instagram story. According to 247Sports, Franks recently followed Miles and KU offensive coordinator Brent Dearmon on Twitter as well.
The trip comes just one day after Franks got a very nice reception from his fellow Gators as he walked in the school’s winter graduation.

Kyle Trask impressed at quarterback for the Gators after stepping in for Feleipe Franks. With Dan Mullen leading the program, it should be in good hands with quarterbacks, as few coaches have a better reputation as a quarterback whisperer.
Seeing Franks get a chance to bounce back and play one more year, whether as a Jayhawk or with another program, would be very cool.
