Josh Jackson Allegedly Threatened Violence Against Kansas Women's Basketball Player During December Incident

Kansas freshman guard Josh Jackson allegedly threatened violence against the KU women's basketball player whose car he kicked during a December incident.

According to an affidavit obtained by the Kansas City Star, Kansas women’s player McKenzie Calvert claims Jackson yelled for her to get out of her car and threatened to "beat her ass" during an altercation outside the Yacht Club bar and restaurant in Lawrence on December 9.

In February, Jackson was charged with misdemeanor property damage for kicking Calvert's car that night.

Here are some more details from the Star:

Members of both the KU men’s and women’s teams were at the Yacht Club in the early morning hours of Dec. 9. Witness statements to police confirm and bring to light new details about what The Star has reported about what happened inside the bar and outside, where Jackson allegedly kicked Calvert’s car. Jackson was charged Feb. 24.

Calvert told police that at one point Jackson yelled for her to get out of the car “and that he would beat her ass,” and banged on the driver’s window.

According to the sworn affidavit signed by Lawrence police detective Lance Flachsbarth, the altercation between Calvert and Jackson began at a party inside the bar and restaurant at 540 Wisconsin St. when Calvert threw a drink on Jackson’s teammate, Lagerald Vick.

Vick is the former boyfriend of Calvert. The entire affidavit features a number of ugly details.

It sounds like the entire incident, and the evening in general, was pretty nasty.

Jackson's arraignment is scheduled for April 12.
