After getting upset by Arizona State in Tempe, No. 5 Kansas experienced a major drop in the college basketball rankings. Now, the Jayhawks will try to get back on the winning track this weekend in Lawrence.
This weekend shouldn't present a steep challenge for the Jayhawks, as they host the Eastern Michigan Eagles.
Eastern Michigan is 6-6 on the year, which includes losses to UC Irvine, Northeastern and Detroit. Nonetheless, the Eagles have experience against premier opponents, following the team's trip to Durham to face the Duke Blue Devils.
This will be the final game before Kansas begins its conference schedule in 2019.
It's possible that Kansas will receive some help along its frontcourt in the form of Udoka Azubuike. Bill Self spoked about the junior center's status for this weekend, and it sounds like there is a chance he'll be on the court.
Regardless of whether Azubuike returns yet or not, the duo of Lagerald Vick and Dedric Lawson is enough to get the job done.
The two stars combine to average 37.4 points per game, and even dropped 44 points against the Sun Devils last weekend.
Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m. ET from Allen Fieldhouse.
The game will be available on ESPN+ with Dave Armstrong and Nick Bahe calling the action.
