Kansas football has largely been a laughingstock for the last few years. But the addition of Les Miles as head coach could change things very dramatically, very quickly.

If nothing else, sports bettors are certainly feeling confident in Miles' ability to turn the program around.

According to Action Network's Darren Rovell, a bettor at the Mirage sportsbook in Las Vegas recently tried to make a huge bet on Kansas. Per the report, the bettor wanted to place $40,000 on Kansas' win total in 2019. However, it's unknown whether the bet was over or under.

Nevertheless, the bet was ultimately rejected because the sports book didn't want to take the action.

The Jayhawks football team has not won more than three games in a season since 2009. In that span, they've won a grand total of six games against their Big 12 rivals.

Given their schedule, winning three games may be tough. They can probably beat Indiana State and Coastal Carolina, but beyond that things get dicey.

They have to play Boston College on the road in Week 3 before starting their in-conference slate.

Les Miles will really need to pull off one of his best coaching jobs if he wants to reach more than three wins with this Jayhawks team.
