There was a time when Kentucky fans thought that on top of their already-loaded 2013 recruiting class, the Wildcats would be able to convince Andrew Wiggins - then ranked the No. 1 high school recruit - to come to Lexington. While Wiggins eventually chose to play for Kansas instead, it looks like UK fans still searched for him more than any other athlete in the past 12 months.
Best TIckets Blog put together a very interesting graphic that shows the most-searched-for athlete in all 50 states. While LeBron James dominates the landscape, there are a few college athletes sprinkled in. As noted above, Wiggins was the most popular in Kentucky and Kansas. Johnny Manziel, who quarterbacked the Texas A&M Aggies the past two seasons, was the most searched for in Texas.

Other obvious college ties are Manti Te'o in Hawaii - he was a member of Notre Dame's football team until early 2013 - and Geno Smith in West Virginia - he quarterbacked the Mountaineers until being drafted by the Jets last season.
