Kansas could add a major piece to its roster before the year ends.

Four-star power forward Silvio De Sousa, who reclassified from the class of 2018 and signed with Kansas in November, could be making his Jayhawk debut soon.

According to ESPN's Jeff Goodman, Kansas is banking on De Sousa being available early in conference play, potentially as soon as the Big 12 opener against Texas on Dec. 29.

De Sousa's arrival could signal a major boost for a Kansas team that lacks front court depth. The Jayhawks are still waiting on a resolution to the internal investigation involving freshman forward Billy Preston.

The 6-foot-9, 230-pound De Sousa reclassified from the class of 2018, and a source told ESPN that he is on track to finish his academic requirements at IMG Academy this week. De Sousa would still need to be cleared by the NCAA.

Kansas will meet Stanford this Thursday at 11 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
