Kansas is adding another player to its 2013-2014 men's basketball roster - Memphis transfer Tarik Black. The school reported the news today via its website.
Black has already received a bachelor's degree from Memphis, so he'll have one year of eligibility remaining at KU. That also means he can play for the Jayhawks immediately.
Bill Self had this to say about Black:
"We received Tarik's financial aid papers earlier today and we are thrilled he has chosen to play his final year of college basketball at KU," Self said. "He will be a huge addition both physically and emotionally, especially from a leadership standpoint, as he will be the most experienced guy on our team entering next season."
Black, who was considered one of the top prospects in his class, averaged 8.1 points per game and 4.8 rebounds per game this past season for the Tigers. The additions of Black and high school phenom Andrew Wiggins should make Kansas a contender next season.
