While the college football season seems far away, the Kansas Jayhawks are already making a change to their schedule.

Although Kansas is usually known for its historic basketball program, the football program will receive a significant boost in attention due to the hire of Les Miles.

The former LSU head coach will bring his championship pedigree to Lawrence in an effort to bring the Jayhawks back to relevancy in the Big 12.

Obviously the conference clashes with Oklahoma and Texas will be huge for Kansas, but an early season game with Boston College will also provide an immediate test for Miles.

The game between the Jayhawks and the Eagles was originally scheduled for Saturday, September 14. However, the team announced on Twitter that it'll make a minor change to the date.

Kansas announced that its matchup with Boston College will now be played on Friday, Sept. 13 from Alumni Stadium. This likely means that the game will receive a nationally-televised, primetime slot.

Kansas will begin the 2019 season on Aug. 31 against Indiana State from David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.

The Jayhawks will try to move past their days with David Beatty as the head coach and look forward to new beginnings with Miles at the helm.
