AP writer Ralph D. Russo has an interesting pick for the Big 12 this year.
Most college football analysts are picking either Oklahoma or in-state rival Oklahoma State to win the Big 12 this year. AP writer Ralph D. Russo is thinking a little differently heading into the 2017 season.
Russo released his predictions for the 2017 campaign on Thursday, and his pick in the Big 12 is by far the most controversial. Russo believes that Kansas State is going to enter the Big 12 title game as the 2-seed and upend Oklahoma, which will be the 1-seed.
In short, he sees Kansas State spoiling Oklahoma's College Football Playoff bid.
Big 12: Kansas State (second) over Oklahoma (first). Of course an upset in the Big 12 championship game helps keep Oklahoma out of the playoff. Of course.
Russo believes that Kansas State will take on Washington in the Fiesta Bowl with Oklahoma playing Stanford in the Cotton Bowl. Neither team plays for a shot at the national title.
