Story: In a tight game throughout, Kansas State survived West Virginia in the final stages Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats' Shane Southwell hit two free throws with 21 seconds remaining to give Kansas State the 65-64 lead. WVU had the last possession, but was unable to get a good look at the basket.
Sophomore guard Jabarie Hinds led the way for the Mountaineers with 15 points. Both teams shot over 50 percent from the field. The free throw woes for West Virginia continued, as it missed 10 free throws on the afternoon. WVU falls to 8-7 overall and 1-2 in the Big 12, while Kansas State improves to 13-2 and 2-0 in conference play.
