The Kansas Jayhawks remain unbeaten on the season through seven games, as they’ll try to extend that streak tomorrow night.
On Saturday, Kansas will host New Mexico State in a battle between two teams with impressive records. Although the Aggies don’t play in a powerhouse conference, they are 7-1 with an impressive win over Washington State.
With Udoka Azubuike expected to miss time until conference play begins, the Jayhawks will have to make several adjustments to their frontcourt. This injury also applies more pressure on Lagerald Vick, who is the unquestioned leader for this team.
Despite the absence of Azubuike, ESPN’s Basketball Power Index still firmly believes the Jayhawks will continue stockpiling more victories. According to the FPI, Kansas has a 90.4 percent chance of defeating New Mexico State.
Ultimately, the Jayhawks have the better roster and should win this matchup. However, this team did find themselves in an overtime battle with Stanford last weekend.
Kansas and New Mexico State are set to tip off at 8:30 p.m. ET from the Sprint Center.
The game will be on ESPN2.
