There's plenty of blame to go around for Oklahoma's loss to Kansas State today, but no one is receiving more criticism than defensive coordinator Alex Grinch.

Lincoln Riley's offense didn't produce in the fourth quarter, that can't be denied. However, Grinch's defense was abysmal for a second-straight season against Kansas State.

Oklahoma was outscored by 17 points in the final quarter, as Kansas State quarterback Skylar Thompson had a career day with 334 passing yards and four total touchdowns.

Following the upset loss to the Wildcats, Grinch spoke to the media about the Sooners' struggles on defense. His response was as blunt as it gets, as he said "It’s a results business and we failed."

Grinch also expressed his frustration with the Sooners' inability to put opponents away.

"It's glaring. You emphasize it and you talk about it. You make guys aware of it," Grinch said. "It's something that we have to continue to evaluate and get job done. Why does 60 minutes seem so long for us?"

Before ending his media session this afternoon, Grinch said he's taking sole responsibility for the defense's putrid performance.

The Sooners will try to bounce back from this upset loss next Saturday when they face the Cyclones. We'd have to imagine that Grinch's defense will come out with a ton of energy.

If these defensive issues continue to linger for Oklahoma, there will be questions about Grinch's job security.
