This tweet did not age well.
Ahead of the Rose Bowl, a number of reporters posted video of Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield running some routes in the end zone - as a wide receiver would. One, NewsOK's Brooke Pryor, even joked that her footage showed what Mayfield "probably" wouldn't be doing during the game.
Well, Mayfield did do some work in the receiving game after all. Mayfield caught a two-yard touchdown pass on his team's final offensive play of the first half. It makes us wonder - was Mayfield practicing those routes with purpose after all?
Pryor joked about her own tweet after it happened. Check it out:
Oklahoma leads Georgia 31-17 at the break. We'll see if Mayfield & Co. can stay hot in the second half.
