The star Oklahoma quarterback has made it clear where he wants to end up.
Most NFL Draft prospects won't say which team they want to draft them, even if every player has to have some kind of preference. Baker Mayfield is not most NFL Draft prospects.
The former star Oklahoma quarterback appears to have made his wishes clear. The 2017 Heisman Trophy winner wants to end up in Miami.
Mayfield commented on an Instagram Live video by former Sooners wideout Kenny Stills. The former OU WR plays for the Dolphins.
The former Sooners quarterback wasn't shy. "Get me to Miami," he wrote.
It's unclear if the interest is reciprocated by the Dolphins. They do, though, want to draft a quarterback this spring, according to the Miami Herald.
"The Dolphins want to draft a quarterback in April. They’re even open to taking one in the first round, if he is the best player on their board," they wrote.
Miami could be a good fit for the 2017 Heisman Trophy winner. The Dolphins played Jay Cutler this past season and Ryan Tannehill is coming off an ACL injury.
The Dolphins have the No. 11 pick in the first round. It's possible Mayfield could go that high.
ESPN NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper has Mayfield going in the top 15. He has him landing at No. 13 to Washington, though.
"Don’t count out the Heisman Trophy winner being taken this high. He is going to get a chance to impress scouts at the Senior Bowl, and I know they’re interested in seeing how he performs. If Washington keeps Cousins, inside linebacker is a clear position of need," Kiper says.
The NFL Draft is set to take place from April 26-28. It'll be at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
